Established in 1998 as a non profit organization with a 501 (c) 3, Mindy's Memory Primate Sanctuary is located 17 miles south of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Our goal is to rescue monkeys discarded as pets or from research facilities and provide a home for the lifetime of the animals.

We are an accredited animal placement facility, a member of both and the . As such, we adhere to the strictest guidelines of care and enclosures for our rescued primates. The sanctuary permits no breeding, selling, trading or public display of our primates.

We are non-profit, serving only the primates' welfare. All work is done by volunteers. We maintain a 501(c)(3) status, all donations are tax deductible.

The sanctuary is run by Director of Animal Care, Linda Barcklay, who has had many years of hands-on experience in animal care, including primate care, in conjunction with our Board of Directors.

Visits to the sanctuary are restricted to foundations awarding grants, our supporters, board members and volunteers, all by appointment. All others are discouraged due to our full work schedule that leaves little time for visitation, and to eliminate stress to the animals by strangers.

Although we answer the need of primates released from research facilities, the majority of our rescued monkeys are from abuse, neglect or abandonment by the private pet sector. Therefore, the sanctuary does not support the idea of exotics as pets.
